Oh, come all ye faithful … and everyone who enjoys singing.

Parkview Golf Club is inviting residents of surrounding suburbs to join its members at a Carols by Candlelight evening on the golf course fairways on Thursday, December 1.

“Spread a blanket on our lush lawns,” says club director, Jerry Fraser, “and start the festive season singing along with popular songstresses Emily and Catherine Tuson, to your favourite carols.”

Both Emily (23) and Catherine (21), who live in Melrose Estate, have been singing and playing music from a young age and been involved in cultural activities such as school musicals, choirs and the band at St Charles Catholic Church.

Emily, a medical student at Wits University, plays the guitar; Catherine, who is studying physiotherapy at Wits, prefers the piano.

“We play at weddings and parties occasionally, and I teach and accompany the De la Salle high school choir,” says Emily.

The Carols start at 19:00. Candles will be on sale. Light snacks and refreshments will also be available.

“Local residents have joined us in a number of events during the year   ̶  our centenary   ̶  and the carols evening will be the perfect finale for our celebrations. Everyone is welcome,” says Fraser.
